[:1]Possible Name Inspirations:
Bilashi - Swahili "For No Reason"
Reason: I have no reason...or do I?
Buibui - Swahili "Spiders"
Reason: I like the "zombie vomiting spiders" idea
Hala - Swahili "Halo round the moon"
Reason: Makes me think about the "Unformed Land" and the WD's "Ghost Trance"
Kwasi - Swahili "Sunday born"
Reason: Made me think of the Poem Solomon Grundy. Then I thought about the DC comic villain. Which makes me think about zombies. Zombies make me think about...
I will probably take the above names, come up with a list of possibilities. I want something that sounds kinda silly but has a deeper meaning.
Right now I am trying to find something like Kwahalabui, Kwhalbui, Khalabui...work in progress.
I want to put together Hala and Buibui together. Together it makes me think of the song Spiders by System of a Down (the only song I actually like of theirs). I might drop the Kwasi aspect...hmm...thoughts.|||Quote:

I don't understand languages where the same word can mean "hurtful" or "rude lettuce." I can kind of understand hanzi languages like Chinese/Japanese, where they're stuck with inefficient ideograms and therefore each of them has to mean like 15 things in different contexts. But a language comprised of Latin characters?

Hurtful = causing injury, detriment, or suffering.
Rude = offensive in manner or action.
Krenken = hurting someones feelings intent on causing them psychological discomfort.
Could be that my understanding of these two words is incorrect.|||Mbopa.
He's one of the main characters in "King Solomon's Mines" and most of all the name sounds cool.|||I will make a female WD and call her "Doctor Donna"|||Uggy Boogy =P|||Name:~ Dr. Vannacutt
Reason:~ After Dr. Richard Benjamin Vannacutt from House on huanted hill.
Name:~ Mengele
Reason:~ After Josef Mengele, a famous Nazi doctor.
Name:~ Hohenheim
Reason:~ Van Hohenheim was the farther of Ed Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist.
Name:~ Mumbo Jumbo, or just Mumbo.

[:1]Name: Skulls
Reason: The song skulls by The Misfits, and the Witch Doctor has a lot of voodoo paraphernalia, most of them being shrunken heads and skulls. I love the aged-wilted physique, it makes the WD seem a lot more potent knowing an old man can summon the dead, and biblical-style plagues of locusts and toads.|||Ugonjwa, which means sickness (as in "plague") in Swahili.

Heh. That's how I usually name my characters too. I use a word related to the character, but in a different language. Usually I use Old Norse, but an Old Norse word wouldn't fit a Witch Doctor. But Swahili is a very fitting language. I'll probably use a Swahili word too. Maybe Mzuka, (spirit), Mganga (doctor) or Mchawi (witch).|||Probably Dr. Feel Food if I can get my hands on the name. That Mtley Cre song fits the theme in both name and actual subject matter. I imagine a lot of people will be going for it. Either that or some other (in)famous doctor from history or literature.|||Yeah, I agree with Mantis on the Docs idea.
Probably Dr. Frankenstein (unroginal me ^^).|||House, just because the show on TV comes up when I think of the Witch Doctor.|||Witch Doctor: Neil Patrick Harris

Zombie Wall: yes or no? - Page 2
[:1]Got a few ideas I thought I'd throw out there...
1. WD summons corpses that pile up one on top of another and zombies burst out of the "corpse pile", hurling themselves in the direction of enemies.
2. WD summons zombies and uses a corpse explode on a single zombie, sending the zombies in the group (already animated as "progressing forward"), hurdling towards the enemy.
3. WD summons a bone tower (necromancer-esque) with zombies at the top, who jump down to attack enemies below.
I completely agree with Flux... regardless of the final skill implementation, the zombies animation needs to be more menacing and animalistic... they should be products of fear, though I know the intent of certain rune socketing is for humor as well as practicality. Really I think none of us would really complain if we had the option to play it now as is or change it and wait...
Just ideas!|||the only thing about diablo3 I really don't like at the moment. It just looks silly and ineffective.|||I love the concept of using Zombies to block enemies but as others have said i think it needs some improvement in the animation and how it works. It would be nice if each Zombie explodes when a enemy walks near the wall to knock the enemy back.|||I think the zombie tower looks fun , but for use not really impressed me at all, they should improve it yeah.|||I just don't understand why anyone would want to use zombie tower over any other similar skill. What purpose does it serve in the arsenal? Short-ranged AoE? Isn't that pretty much what firebomb already is, and that looks cooler and dangerous and damaging.
When you read what Jay Wilson said about the care and attention to detail that go into creating signature skills, you can see that none of that really applied when they got to zombie tower.
My fear is that because the skill looks so lame, they'll have to 'balance' it against more visually impressive skills by making it do better damage.|||Except you might not have firebomb yet and only happen to have that spell. That's my take on why that player was using it in the b-roll video. There seems to be a lot of overlap with spells, but when you are leveling, you might not have an attack spell that hits everything in font of you type of thing, so modifying a spell you dont need or want (ie, WoZ), you then can make use of it. I mean, if you use Mongrels, then you shouldn't need WoZ for instance. I guess it depends not only on the build, but how you transition your build as you get more spells and more skill slots.
What worries me is that when they go through the refining process, they start taking that and others out... eventually resulting in loosing 1 or 2 runes per spell altogether.
I'd rather something silly than something that just gives a damage bonus or something, but that's me. I guess it comes down to what's useful versus what's not.|||Quote:

losing your runes? they are swappable, so you dont lose them.

Zombie Wall: yes or no?
[:1]Everyone liked Zombie Wall's basic form/function. Opinions seem to be split on the newly-revealed Zombie Tower runestone effect.
Personally, I think the concept is okay, but the zombies are way too nimble/agile as they climb, and I don't like the falling animation. They should land and attack enemies, or grab them and then dissolve into poison, or something. Just falling through the enemies and splatting on the ground looks weird, with the green goo not actually on top of the enemies.|||I agree Flux. The concept looks good but I think they could look more agressive when climbing/falling on the enemy. It just look like they drop their bodies instead of attacking...|||I wonder what the other runes do for that spell if one of them makes them do acrobatics lol?|||I've never been a fan of Zombie Wall to begin with... it just seems like a cheesy gimmick to me already, so the acrobatics make it worse.|||yes, the zombie ladder is silly as hell... maybe once used it will seem better, but atm it makes me want to /facepalm|||I'm a bit worried that the WD will end up with far too many of the silly rune effects compared to the other classes.
The concept's not bad but the execution could've been a bit more creative. Can't the bottom zombie fight enemies in melee range then have the others fall once he dies? At least that would maintain the whole obstruction-that-fights-back idea the skill has going for it.|||Or, for a really appropriate animation/function, the zombie tower will walk around and sway precariously, fighting nothing but to keep their balance.|||And the wind...
I can see it now!|||An idea I posted in the Runestone Think Tank:
The Zombie Wall appears and functions as normal (with a health meter of it's own?), but as the wall takes damage, zombies break off the wall and crawl or walk to attack aggressors. The amount of zombies that break off and the chance to get a walking zombie over a crawling (or running!) zombie would be dictated by runestone rank and CLvl.|||Quote:

Add a rainbow rune and they start doing a Richard Simmons workout session...
