Comments on the WD Skills - Page 2

Anyone else disappointed with the skills "horrify" and "mass confusion"? I mean it's too early for sure but it's just too hard not to directly compare these guys to the necromancer's terror curse which NO ONE uses (may be an overstatement but c'mon really??) and the pally's conversion. It just seems like such a waste of two slots for other really cool ideas. Maybe this is rash and they will change the implementation but as is, skills that only have PvM applications and even in that manner, still seem very limited just don't seem to be worth putting in the WD's repertoire.|||Quote:

Of course this is total speculation... but to me it would make sense, especially since they make a point of including the summons' level on the hover display. I hope this is the case, at least.

Something like that does make sense. It is just odd that they include the summon level at all. I would have assumed that it would be tied to the WD's level.

Could be that it is tied to the clvl and that the pic of the Zombie Dogs was taken at clvl 12 and of the Fetish Army at clvl 15 and that this bit of information slipped past Flux and the others.

Horrify = Terror and Mass Confusion = Confuse. These are carbon copies of Necromancer curses although Horrify works more like the Barb's Grim Ward. Terror gets used so little that it is basically useless. You need it as a prereq though. Confuse is also used seldom because you have DV before it. DV is more predictable and does its job well.

I can see both being useful for the WD because of his focus on long range damage. Horrify makes sure that no melee monster can get to you while you can still pelt them with your long range damage. It basically makes you immune to a lot of damage. Mass Confusion can take care of really large groups and the annoying ranged attackers. I can see both being useful in PvM. The question is, as with all skills, how long will it be useful?|||yea i see your point. i just have a problems whenever I see a skill that can't be globally applied to PvM and PvP. these skills also have no use on bosses (well horrify doesn't, i can see MC being used to turn an underling against a boss) but already from the outset the skills seem so boring and limited in scope.
