Whether or not you like WoW, It does have style. Yeah, sometimes the shoulder armor gets a little ridiculous and there some other fun things to make fun of, however, we'll make fun of the shoulder and weapons style all day long, while at the same time, forgetting what we love about CRPGs is getting bigger, better, bulkier armor.
In the end, I'll still have to play all the classes and figure out what play style I like, but there is nothing stopping me from playing this class art style wise. Sadly, even in Diablo II, I liked the style of the assassin, but once I started playing the assassin, the actual play style of the class didn't appeal to me.
Edit: or perhaps I should say debuffer with pets, which does put him in the same class as necromancer, really.
Also, my single player barbarian's armor is currently purple.|||@Nekora
Yes, but here's the thing. The concept for the WD looks, quite frankly, awesome. Tribal, and yet fitting in Diablo. The twitter pick looks like someone committed a suicide by drowning itself in vomit after drinking the painter's cellar of paints. Just look at this:

Function > fashion.|||Quote:
For those of you complaining about the bright, garish colors, and the stylized nature of the mask...
Do you even get the point and theme of this character? This character is using inspiration with tribal masks and things like that. A lot of these tribal masks, and tribal/aboriginal art in general looks a lot like this stuff! They like to use bright colors, stylized shapes and representations. This represents the character's theme! How can you have a Witch Doctor without tribal masks and bright, garish tribal ceremonial dress?
It's not 'gothic'. Sanctuary hasn't been especially 'gothic' since D2. D1 was all set in the very gothic area of Tristram's cathedral, and D2 branched out.
Doppel, quit trolling with your WoW comments, as well. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt before in other threads, but now you're just being ridiculously inflammatory just to get a rise out of people.
Diablo games' description is " dark, gothic ARPG"... Realistic and gritty.
Even if you're right about WD should look like this; then D3 team made an even bigger mistake, designing this character for Diablo 3.
I can't believe it looks normal to some people... It's gotta be joke.

I think it looks fine, I don't understand all the fuss.

Why didn't you say this for oversized helmets and shoulders?|||Quote:

Because I don't have a problem with those either.|||Quote:

From what I can see, most of the armor is there, it's just the mask that's completely different. Coincidentally, it seems the problem most people seem to have with the WD pic is with the mask. What most people don't seem to realize is that we don't know whether the mask in the Twit pic is representative of all WD masks or not. Perhaps there is a mask that looks just like the one in the concept art.
At this point, my biggest fear is that WD headgear follows the same kind of themed progression as armor. I'd hate to equip a metal skull cap only to have it look like a tribal mask.|||Quote:

Maybe the masks are class specific pieces of armor, but I think that the WD will equip each and every helmet as a mask. Blizz seems pretty intent on making the characters look like their archetype all the time. It would be pretty weird if you have a character completely decked out in jungle gear and then suddenly a fully visored metal helmet.
What I'm curious about is if this focus on the light jungle armor will always be the case. If a WD would equip a set of Full Plate Mail will we still see them clothed with just a loincloth, a bit of wood and feathers on their shins and upper arms and a big mask?|||i hope not mantis, if we cant even get clothes on them i wont play the class.
light armored i can deal with but not unarmored. this gear set also look like a clown(without being scary).
when the concept art is this:

and we get that crappy gear set i wonder what went wrong.
it does not look like we will get anything remotely heavier then what has been shown either.

I didnt know larger feathers made an armor heavier

Because I don't have a problem with those either.
So you're saying for example barbarian's shoulders, helmet, belt function correct, right?

LoL

What are you saying about the function of feathers AxeX?|||

The original one looks like a crappy toy for kids when you compare it to the fan made version. The modified version looks soooo awesome, I now understand that some fans definitely know some things much better than the fan boys of WOW at the Diablo 3 development team. Why those “professionals” at the team can’t make it as cool as fans do, I don’t know.
